Plakatstil or Sachplakat
A design booklet about Plakatstil, also popularly known as Sachplakat and Object Poster style, was an earlier style of poster art that began in Germany and was prevalent in the 1900s. The word Plakatstil itself is a German word that translates to “poster style” in English. It modernized the elements in order to shift it towards becoming more suitable for advertising and simpler for consumers to understand. After simplifying the elements that eventually became labelled as Plakatstil, “Sachplakat” advertising style which means “object poster” was eventually coined.
